VeMeet doesn't have user accounts or a login, so there's no central database of who uses it. This page explains what data actually exists and where.

What's stored, and where

The public identity you put on a card — your name, role, website, social links, and card artwork — is written into that card's smart contract on VeChainThor, a public blockchain. Anyone with the contract address can read them, the same as anyone can read a physical business card you hand them. Don't put anything on a card you wouldn't hand a stranger.

Card artwork, whether AI-generated or uploaded by you, is stored on DigitalOcean Spaces and linked permanently from your card. It's not encrypted or access-controlled; the link is effectively public once the card is created.

Your wallet address is public by nature of using a blockchain. If you sign in with a social login (Google, etc.), that identity provider (and, behind the scenes, VeChain's hosted login service) sees you signed in; VeMeet itself never receives your email or password.

Deletion and "the right to be forgotten"

Be upfront with yourself about this before creating a card: what you write into it is permanent. A public blockchain cannot delete or edit a past transaction, so once a card's details are on-chain, we cannot remove them, not for you, not on request, not ever. This is a real limit on the usual "right to erasure" a privacy law would otherwise promise you, and it exists because immutability is the whole point of putting a card on-chain in the first place. If your details change, create a new card and stop sharing the old link; the old one still exists, the same way an old printed card you've stopped handing out still exists in whoever kept it.

Off-chain assets we control directly, card artwork stored on DigitalOcean, are a different story. If you want a specific image taken down, email us and we'll remove it from storage (the card's metadataURI would then point at a broken link, since we can't rewrite what's already on-chain).

What we don't do

We don't run analytics trackers, ad pixels, or third-party marketing scripts on this site. We don't sell data, because we don't hold any to sell beyond what's already public on-chain.

Browser storage

Your browser may keep small amounts of local state (like your wallet connection) to avoid asking you to reconnect on every page. This stays on your device and isn't sent to us.
